The elementary children will be learning a new life app in the month of August: respect (showing others they are important by what you say and do). We’ll learn lesson in respect from:
a centurion, whose servant is very sick. The centurion shows respect for God when he trusts that Jesus will bring healing. (Bottom line: Respect God because He is in charge of everything.)
Paul, who reminds us that God has put certain people in charge for a reason. (Bottom line: Respect those who are in charge.) We’ll also learn from David, who had the opportunity to kill King Saul, but didn’t. (Bottom line: Respect those who are in charge, even when they don’t deserve it.)
James, who points out that we use our words to both praise God and to talk badly about our friends. We should watch what we say. (Bottom line: Respect others with yours words.)
James, who also teaches us that it doesn’t matter what people look like on the outside. (Bottom line: Respect others because they are important to God.)
Remember, kids earn 5 Bible Bucks each week of August in which they can recite the memory verse from the picture below. Help your child learn to keep God’s word in his/her heart.
