In March, the elementary children will be learning about forgiveness (deciding that someone who has wronged you doesn’t have to pay). We’ll learn lessons about forgiveness from:
The Parable of the Prodigal Son, who went against what his father had said, but realized he’d been wrong and went back home to ask for forgiveness (Everyone needs to be forgiven, even me.)
The Prodigal Son’s Brother, who wouldn’t forgive his brother for the things he’d done wrong (When you don’t forgive, you miss out.)
Peter, who thought he was being generous by forgiving someone seven times, but he learned that Jesus says we should always forgive (Since God forgave you, you should forgive others.)
Jesus, who gave us an example to illustrate that we should be careful not to judge others (Be careful not to judge others because you’ve been wrong too.)
Zacchaeus, who changed his whole life after being forgiven by Jesus (When people are forgiven, it can change them.)
Remember, kids earn 5 Bible Bucks each week of March in which they can recite the memory verse from the picture above. Help your child learn to keep God’s word in his/her heart.
